Namaste

Well deserved peace:

A retirement home for a globe-trotting family of five.

Having lived in Ajmer, Delhi, Calcutta & Mumbai, this family had a beautiful collection of artefacts, a homage to Indian culture - which is why we designed a soothing contemporary Indian home.

Indian silk saris drape the wardrobes in the master bedroom; an ode to the favourite piece of clothing the lady of the house wore in years past. The headboard depicts peacocks facing each other; a display of both, the individuality and unity of the couple.

Veneer and textured paint, juxtaposed, give the den in this apartment a soft, friendly vibe. Their daughter’s masterpieces are showcased around the house in a gallery-like fashion. An interchangeable shelf panel in soothing shades of pastel gives the artist in her the freedom to display her work.

The living room mirrors play a dual role in displaying the artist’s work and doubling up the space while the family gathers for a delicious aloo tikki meal on their aged, concrete dining table.
